Rabindra Jayanti Celebration

Rabindra Jayanti is celebrated to pay a tribute to famous novelist Dr Ravindra Nath Tagore for his incredible contribution to literature. He is one of the few novelists who is awarded with Nobel Prize for his works. This day in Kolkata is popularly known as Poncheeshe Boishakh.
On this day various cultural events are organized around the state including poetry recitation competitions as well as poetry writing competitions. Aads takes the initiation of all the programmes held on this day. Ravindranath was born at Jorasanko Thakurbari.This is the venue of all the activities held on this day.
